Elections Work at County Jail

Many of our members have expressed interest in voter registration and elections work at Cook County Jail. Election efforts there are being coordinated by Chicago Votes. Through summer and fall they are accepting volunteers to help with registration, early elections, ballot sorting, and more. Sign up here for any of these and for any necessary training.

  • Sorting ballot applications at the jail. No training required.
  • Working early elections in November. You need two types of training for this: a "Cook County Jail 101" training session conducted by Chicago Votes, and election judge training from the Chicago Board of Elections.
  • Voter registration: July 15, August 12, September 9, and more dates to be announced. You need to be a deputy registrar (training available) and to have taken Cook County Jail 101.

Sign up for all shifts and all necessary training on this one form. It also has contact info if you have any questions.
