"A Christmas Carol" has always held a special place in my heart. From the original novella by Charles Dickens, to the Disney version starring Scrooge McDuck, the many stage adaptations, and (my personal favorite) the Muppet Christmas Carol starring Michael Caine as Scrooge and Gonzo as Dickens. This story is important; it tells of redemption, but also that we should care for others not only at Christmas, but the whole year round.
This adaptation was written for performance at Bainbridge Little Theatre in Bainbridge, Georgia. I am honored to have been given the privilege of adapting and directing this show for our 50th season. Bainbridge Little Theatre has become my second home since moving to Bainbridge in 2022, and I am deeply appreciative to the board of directors for entrusting me with this vision.

In this production, the choir narrates the show through classic English carols. They take on various ensemble roles throughout the show, popping in and out of scenes as named characters. I felt it important to include English carols that would have been sung during Dickens’ time, to keep the setting as authentic as possible.
