Privacy Policy — Adblock for Youtube™
Effective Date: February 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the “Adblock for Youtube™” Chrome extension (“the Extension”) handles information.
1. Summary
The Extension runs locally in your browser to reduce distractions on YouTube. It does not collect, sell, or transfer personal data.
2. Data We Collect
We do not collect any personal information, browsing history, or user content.
We do not use analytics, trackers, or remote logging.
3. Data We Store
The Extension stores only your preferences locally using Chrome’s storage (for example: whether ad blocking is enabled). These settings remain on your device.
4. Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer any data to third parties.
5. Permissions Explained
The Extension requests only the permissions required to work:
- declarativeNetRequest: to block known ad requests
- scripting and activeTab: to apply changes on YouTube pages
- storage: to remember your on/off setting
- *://*.youtube.com/*: access limited to YouTube
6. Clipboard Use
When you click the Share button, the Extension may copy the store URL to your clipboard. This is done only on your explicit action and is not transmitted anywhere.
7. Data Retention
No personal data is retained. Local settings stay on your device until you disable or remove the Extension.
8. Security
Because the Extension does not collect or transmit user data, there is no remote storage to secure.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information.
10. Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we will update the Effective Date above.
