Black Lives Matter
(for beginners)
Posting On Social Media Isn't Enough.
In this day and age, information spreads fast, with social media being the primary facilitator. While it is important to keep people informed and spread awareness, it is even more important to take action. At this stage, awareness is not enough. The racism we see present in society is not something that developed within the past century, it stems from how our society was built and how our norms were developed. In order to combat systematic racism, we must do more than post black screens and chain stories. Even the graphic and violent videos have minimal effects in decreasing the fatalities of black people at the hands of the police, let alone legislation or reform. The surface of the problem has barely been scratched so, we must take action for we can't expect change without initiative.
Hopefully the information compiled on this site can help you start your journey in activism!
