As a black artist I feel that I must use my work to inspire, uplift, and expand the appreciation and respect of our collective talents. This exhibit helps define our versatile creativity and our superhuman abilities, in spite of a system that attempts to reduce us. The title of my submitted sculpture is "2020" and is a culmination of African beauty that stands against the injustice and the pandemic of this chaotic year.
