Richmond, VA
Challenging the status quo that perpetuates racism has felt like an impossible task up until this year. Unfortunately it took getting tear gassed by the police at a peaceful protest for me to fully embody the pain and injustice that my white privilege has shielded me from. Realizing my complicity in systematic racism (white silence) has compelled me to speak up through my art and actions. I hope my work can help normalize speaking out against oppression by bringing these historic moments into your living space. 50% of all profits from my work will be donated to frontline BLM organizers and leaders.
Skating for Change
The intersection was blocked off for hours by onlookers who cheered whenever a trick was landed. I focused my attention on a skater who had been trying to land a forward flip off of the highest step on the plinth. (Injustice in America)photo print / 24 x 18 in
