The image that I am sending, titled "The world turned upside down". was done in a series called "Covid Art" during the pandemic. The work has been taken from another larger image and painted/drawn on to change some of the meaning. It seems that this time of difficulty has made us all more aware of the inequality and mistreatment of black lives. The George Floyd murder brought a lot of that home to people who were not really aware that it happens to minority people every day. As a teacher, I have often worried about how my diverse students will manage to travel through this world. Their success is as important to me as it is to them. The world has surely been turned upside down in 2020 and I hope it will be right side up in the next year.
