We are proud to announce the results of our second January 2020 campaign, the #JendeukieKoalaProject and the #NiniOceanProject which supports both Oceana and the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital in honor of Jennie's birthday!
Oceana is a non-profit ocean conservation organization that is focused on influencing specific policies on the national level to preserve and restore the world's oceans. It is the largest international group focused solely on ocean conservation! They have campaigns to help return our oceans to former levels of abundance and believe in the importance of science in identifying problems and solutions related to the ocean.
At the beginning of this project, we initially just had a project that supported Oceana for Jennie's birthday but due to increasing concerns regarding the Australian bushfires, we decided to add an additional bonus project, the #JendeukieKoalaProject. Due to its success from the beginning and since it supported such an urgent matter, we decided to focus more on promoting that project!
The Port Macquarie Koala Hospital is a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center that carries out actual on-site procedures except for major sugeries. During the time of the bushfires, they helped treat sick and injured koalas affected by the fires.
We raised a total of $1849 for the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital! These funds will be used towards rescuing and treating koalas impacted by the bushfires, planting koala trees to help feed them, and overall funding the hospital's conservation foundation!
For the #NiniOceanProject, we were able to raise a total of $128 which will be used towards funding campaigns aimed towards making oceans more bio-diverse and abundant as well as advocating for science-based fishery management!
We would like to thank all the blinks that donated and helped spread the word! This project was a massive success and we're so proud that we were able to honor Jennie's birthday by supporting good causes! Lastly we would like to give a shout out to @_XXXJEN on Twitter for making a very generous donation of $1000 to the #JendeukieKoalaProject! We are so grateful for your kind contribution!
