TerraFusion Guide
Welcome to the TerraFusion Blender addon, a powerful tool for creating stunning landscapes and textures with ease. In this detailed guide, we'll walk you through the installation process, accessing the addon panel, and utilizing its features effectively.
Installing the Terrafusion Addon
Before diving into creating breathtaking landscapes, you need to install the Terrafusion addon. Follow these steps:
Download the Terrafusion Addon: Visit the official Gumroad page for the addon to download the Terrafusion addon ZIP file.
Open Blender: Launch your Blender application if it's not already open.
Access the Preferences: Click on "Edit" in the top-left corner of the Blender window, and then select "Preferences" from the dropdown menu.
Install Addon: In the Preferences window, navigate to the "Add-ons" tab. Click the "Install" button located in the upper-right corner.
Locate the Addon ZIP File: Browse your computer to find and select the TerraFusion ZIP file (Not the heightmaps ZIP file) you downloaded earlier. Click "Install Add-on."
Activate the Addon: After installation, ensure the checkbox next to "TerraFusion" is checked to activate the addon.
Save Preferences: Click the "Save Preferences" button to make sure the addon is enabled every time you launch Blender.
Using the TerraFusion Addon
Now that you have the Terrafusion addon installed, let's explore how to create landscapes and textures effortlessly.
Opening the Addon Panel:
In Blender, locate the addon panel. This is found in the N-Panel of the 3D viewport.
Click on the "TerraFusion" tab to access the addon's interface.
Creating a New Workspace:
Within the addon panel, look for the "Append and Edit" button.
Click this button to initiate a new workspace. You'll notice that it automatically adds a basic landscape to your scene.
Selecting Heightmaps:
With your workspace set up, it's time to add a heightmap. Simply locate the image texture node that you want to add a heightmap to and open the file browser and select the image you want to use. You can find the heightmaps in the zip file downloaded with the add-on.
Mixing Heightmaps:
The heart of Terrafusion lies in the ability to mix heightmaps seamlessly. If you have more than one heightmap added, you can use the MixRGB nodes to mix the heightmaps together. You can select the blending mode to get different results or use some of the procedural masks that comes with the addon. Just plug the output from the procedural mask into the factor input of the MixRGB node.Â
Texturing with Procedural Masks:
To bring your landscape to life, you can use procedural texture masks. Using the node-group that comes with the addon (you can find that in the active material of the landscape), you can use masks such as slope, ambient occlusion and more. You can plug in a Principled BSDF into the node-group and from there on use the values in the node-group to control the mask.
