Download the addon: Visit the official Gumroad page for the addon to download the Material Designer addon ZIP file.
Open Blender: Launch your Blender application if it's not already open.
Access the Preferences: Click on "Edit" in the top-left corner of the Blender window, and then select "Preferences" from the dropdown menu.
Install Addon: In the Preferences window, navigate to the "Add-ons" tab. Click the "Install" button located in the upper-right corner.
Locate the Addon ZIP File: Browse your computer to find and select the Material Designer ZIP file you downloaded earlier. Click "Install Add-on."
Activate the Addon: After installation, ensure the checkbox next to "Material Designer" is checked to activate the addon.
Save Preferences: Click the "Save Preferences" button to make sure the addon is enabled every time you launch Blender.
Delete everything in your scene. Then open the addon in the N-Panel. Now click the "Scene Setup" button to add the recommended scene elements.
Now click the "Workspace" button to add the recommended workspace for using Material Designer.
Now you're ready to begin creating. Use the pie menu by pressing J, or use the add menu by pressing shift+a and go to the MD Nodes menu. Alternatively you can add nodes from the addon panel in the shader window.
Setup the nodes like in the picture below and now you can explore all the node groups in Material Designer. It's all about exploring different combinations and making something cool.
