1. Objective
Following a string of anomalies lost in transfer and internal access logs flagged with inconsistencies, Omega-1 was dispatched to Site (REDACTED) to investigate a high-ranking Foundation officer suspected of betraying secure routing data to a hostile Group of Interest. The accused, Regional Director Alton Vey, held command authority over multiple cross-site initiatives and was known for his charismatic leadership and private dealings beyond Ethics oversight.
The operation required discretion, investigation, and a rapid command neutralization protocol if evidence was verified.
2. Operational Sequence
0604 hours
Omega-1 entered the site posing as a routine auditing team. Captain Justice split the group into dual leads—FTL Preliminary and Operative Blackwood—to independently trace routing inconsistencies and interview junior command personnel.
0701 hours
Blackwood isolated an unauthorized relay pattern matching fragments of encryption last seen during Operation Chaos Forge. Logs indicated Vey had accessed this channel from an off-grid communications node embedded within the substructure.
0727 hours
Preliminary, meanwhile, uncovered a series of falsified recovery reports involving two minor anomalies last presumed lost. Both had, in fact, been traded through black-market circuits linked to known insurgency affiliates.
0755 hours
Blackwood and Preliminary reconvened and made their findings known to Captain Justice. A tactical decision was made to proceed with command removal under sealed authority.
3. Confrontation
0823 hours
Vey was located in the private command lounge of Sublevel Seven. Confrontation was recorded in full. Operative Gavel read the official charges while FTL Preliminary moved to block all exits. Blackwood conducted the detainment.
Vey did not resist. He reportedly said,
"You're early. I had three more moves to make."
The Director’s clearance was stripped, and his private terminal was seized.
4. Results
Subject Status
Director Alton Vey Detained under active tribunal warrant
Site security Recalibrated, full purge and reset of clearance layers
Compromised anomalies Two recovered, one unaccounted
Operatives Blackwood and Preliminary Jointly commended for operational synergy and independent initiative
5. Command Recognition
Following review of the mission and compiled internal reports, the following promotions were issued:
Name Promotion
FTL Preliminary Elevated to Second Lieutenant
Operative Blackwood Elevated to Fireteam Lead, Omega-1
Captain Justice Final Statement
"Leadership is not always about being followed. Sometimes it's about being trusted to lead where others hesitate. Blackwood and Preliminary showed that they can carry this standard—together. The future of Omega-1 is brighter because of them."
6. Blackwood Personnel Log (Encrypted)
"I knew the moment Vey looked at me that he was never going to fight it. He already knew he was caught. But what stuck with me wasn’t him—it was the look on Preliminary’s face when it was over. Calm, steady, like he’d been leading teams his whole life.
We’ve come a long way from our first lakefront sprint. I’d follow him. And now they’re following me."
Addendum
Etched on the inside of the comms relay that Vey had modified was a single phrase scratched into the casing with a broken stylus:
“There is no justice without deliverance.”
The words were submitted to the Omega-1 archive. Operation closed. Deployment reassignments pending.
