ASH & STONE

Picture frames tilt, shadows of time

A key in the attic, is it a sign

Curtains move slow in the pale moon light

Echoes of old, hidden from sight

Footsteps I swear I can almost hear

Rocking chair creaks, i sense you are near

When touching the wall, vibrations of time

Your heart is the echo that answers to mine

Come to me through the ash and the stone

A hundred years of being alone

Across the divide, through the dust on the floor

I’m waiting to love you some more.

I sense your presence when I speak your name

A breathe in the nursery, now nothing's the same

Did you sit and play in this hollow space

If I turn my back, will you run through the door

Old brass coins with a tarnished date

Ticking like clocks against our fate

I read your name in the faded ink

And feel you there as the shadows sink

Come to me through the ash and the stone

A hundred years of being alone

Across the divide, through the dust on the floor

I’m waiting to love you some more.

Come to me through the ash and the stone

A hundred years of being alone

Across the divide, through the dust on the floor

I’m waiting to love you some more.
