The region of Altis is in the midst of an economic collapse following the strike of Hurricane Margaret. The Altis governments delayed and ineffectual response to the crisis has spurred severe civil disorder. A large unified force of disenfranchised civilians and former Altis Defense Troops have defected to create the New Altis Militia Group. The NAM, and their leader General Osmos Achim have destabilized all defense forces in the region. This has resulted in the collapse of any law and order in the region of Altis. After holding an emergency meeting this past week, the NATO security council has ordered a Joint Special Task Force (TF-79) to deploy to Altis to establish conditions for follow on operations from a larger force. The task force consists of 4th Bn - US Army Rangers and 1MSSF - 1 Squadron / 3rdSOAR.
