Black is a 2006 first-person shooter video game developed by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts. It was released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in February 2006. The player assumes control of Jack Kellar, a black ops agent being interrogated about his previous missions involving a terrorist operation. Gameplay involves players confronting enemies by using firearms and grenades. The game is notable for its heavily stylized cinema-inspired action as well as its sound quality and focus on destructive effects during gameplay.

Black is set in Ingushetia and Chechnya, Russia. The protagonist is Sergeant First Class Jack Kellar (Marty Papazian), an inadequately disciplined member of a CIA black ops unit. The unknown interrogator (Paul Pape) questions Kellar about an arms smuggling terrorist organization and gang called the Seventh Wave who have been responsible for a number of terrorist attacks and homicides. The interrogator explains that, unless Keller co-operates, he and his actions will be declassified, meaning he will be convicted at court-martial, dishonorably discharged, and imprisoned for life. Though initially resistant, Kellar agrees to tell his story.

Kellar's next mission is to cross the border into Treneska and traverse the Vlodnik Canal to destroy a base and weapons cache. He then meets a female black ops soldier named MacCarver (Cree Summer), the commander of black ops Team Bravo, after fighting a wave of terrorists at a farmhouse. Kellar and MacCarver then move to destroy an arms factory in the city of Naszran. To complete the mission, they must navigate an old graveyard and town, both heavily defended. After doing so, they assault the town's iron foundry, destroying its productive capacity. They then meet a third member of the team, Solomon.

Criterion intended to "do for shooting what Burnout did for racing - tear it apart",[1] with dual emphasis on destructible environments and the handling and behavior of real-world firearms. Bullets that hit buildings, terrain and objects leave visible damage; moreover, the guns are rendered with great detail and accuracy, though some weapons' features are stylized or exaggerated.[2] The emphasis on the appearance, function, and sounds of the weapons led the developer to label the game as "Gun-Porn".[3] Another notable and original feature is the use of real-time blur while reloading, giving a depth of field and more perspective to the game. Similarly, when the player drops below two bars of health, the screen turns black and white, the sound of the character's heartbeat become the dominant noise and the game goes into slow motion, and the large and small motors in the control pads match the sound of systolic and diastolic part of the heartbeat.

The game was not developed with an overarching plot structure in mind and this was implemented as something of an afterthought towards the end of development. The initial idea for relating the plot in-game came from Black's director, Alex Ward, who wanted to have a radio-play-style voiceover spoken over a 'black' screen.

Pmdg 737-800 ESNQ-ESSA. Never had any problems with black screens before with pmdg and never had them before at these airports either. Before SU14 so to speak. But now I get them. Micro stutters as well.

Have experienced black Avionics on finals to LHR (Inibuilds) on XSX. Using the default A320 Neo. I ensured to keep my flight duration to less than 2hrs which it was but still nevertheless Black Avionics once again. Has anyone else experienced black screens at Inibuilds Lhr too?

This has happened to me too. I am a noob to MSFS but am really enjoying it apart from the screens going black in A320 after a 2-3 hr flight. I thought it was something I had done wrong but now it appears not. Still managed to land it though

It does indeed. I am experiencing this issue, after around 10 minutes airborne, on the X Cub Carbon Cub with the Garmin G3X and it seems to be related to an electrical power failure. In addition to the Garmin screen blacking out there are no external lights (Landing, Nav, Strobe) and if I land, shut down and then attempt to start the engine again there is no power to the starter motor. There are additional weird things going on too. When the G3X fails the Secondary Flight Display remains functional - unless I turn the landing light on - then the SFD shuts down. Turning the landing light off restarts the SFD.

Same trouble with me, as an Xbox user with the A320.

The bug happens during the approach and also if I want to restart the flight.

The plane is located on the runway with all flight monitors black.

The game still runs in the background and so far I have only been playing Star Wars Fallen Order and a known football game 20. I imagine playing a racing game or COD Warzone would be fun when the TV "blacks out" for a few seconds...

For me it's totally random when it happens. More often is after some "warm up time" but it can also happen after just 1 minute after starting a game. From there the black screen can occur every 10 seconds to every 10 minutes. Totally random again.

I am in contact with Xbox support here in Norway. They are very helpfull actually and are open for exchanging my Xbox but after I took my Xbox to a friends house to test it on his 4K TV there was no black screen for 3 hours straight playing. We even tried covering the Xbox up a bit with pillows to trigger a heat reaction. Xbox did not mess up at his house at all even under big stress testing. Also running with HDR by the way and same original Xbox HDMI cable.

@AndrewL : I have had a bit of time three days in a row now to test the setup leaving out the connection of the computer on HDMI2. The good news is that the black random screen is gone. Allthough there is still a small "clicking" noise from the TV itself when the black screen normally occurs. I'm still very happy to see the TV not blacking out right now.

I have downloaded the trial but when I launch the game I get a black screen after the splash screen with the loading bar at the bottom. I can hear the 'EA Originals' voice and some background sound but the screen is totally black. Hitting the guide button works and everything else works as intended but Wild Hearts is doing this weirdness.

It's odd, the game is clearly there as I can hear the menu music and if I keep hitting A then it advances to loading into the game, if I move the stick it sounds the character is running around on dirt/gravel but the screen is black, almost like there is no signal being sent to TV it's that dark but bringing up the guide shows there is a signal.

The new colorway is the first time the console has been refreshed since it was released alongside the larger and more powerful Xbox Series X on November 20, 2020. For nearly three years, Microsoft has differentiated the Xbox Series S with its disc-less white and black design, 512GB of storage, and $299.99 price. Now, gamers can get a 1TB Xbox Series S for $200 less than the Xbox Series X.

Im trying to project my windows 11 pc screen to my xbox 1. Using the wireless display app on xbox, I get my PC to connect to the wireless display, only problem is that my xbox shows a black screen, as well as my PC. I can tell it was connected because I could still hear everything from my PC to my headset connected to my xbox, it's just that both of my screens end up being black. How do I fix? 0852c4b9a8
