If you want the best open-ear design for active kids who need to stay aware of their surroundings, choose BKIBD Open Ear Headphones; if you need rugged, submersible waterproof gear for serious swimming and offline music storage, choose MTYBBYH IP68.
• BKIBD Open Ear Headphones: Best strength is the bone conduction technology that keeps ears open for situational awareness; biggest trade-off is the specific recommendation to avoid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) during normal listening to prevent harsh sounds. Ideal for parents looking for best usb c charging on ear headphones for kids who run or cycle outdoors.
• MTYBBYH IP68: Best strength is its dual-layer sealing and 32GB built-in storage for true underwater use without Bluetooth; biggest trade-off is the requirement to switch modes for land use and the in-ear fit which blocks ambient noise. Perfect for families seeking a noise canceling wireless headset for kids specifically for pool training or intense water sports.
The BKIBD Y312 Pro is designed around a philosophy of freedom and safety. Its core feature is the bone conduction driver system, which sits gently against the cheekbones rather than plugging into the ear canal. This design choice is critical for anyone using these devices while running, cycling, or playing in busy areas where hearing traffic or other people is essential. The product description explicitly mentions that this technology provides an "uninterrupted audio experience" by transmitting sound waves directly to the inner ear, bypassing the eardrum entirely. For parents worried about their children being isolated from the world while listening to music, this open-ear approach is the clear winner.
Battery life is another major selling point for this model. With up to 7 hours of continuous music playback and 6 hours of talk time, it covers a full day of school activities or after-school practice without needing a recharge. The inclusion of a portable charging case that weighs only 48 grams adds significant convenience, allowing the device to be tucked away easily. The individual earbuds are incredibly light at just 8 grams each, meaning they won't drag down on a child's head during long wear sessions.
However, there is a distinct caveat regarding its audio processing features. This suggests that while the device offers environmental noise cancellation capabilities, the implementation is better suited for calls or specific scenarios rather than general music enjoyment. Additionally, while it boasts Bluetooth 5.4 for superior connectivity and dual-microphone ENC for clear calls, it is strictly an over-ear, open-style device. It is not designed to seal out the world; it is designed to let the world in while you listen. This makes it unsuitable for swimmers or anyone who needs absolute silence.

The MTYBBYH S25 is built for a completely different environment: water. Its primary advantage lies in its IPX8 certification, which allows it to be submerged up to 26 feet (8 meters). Unlike standard waterproof claims that might only handle splashes, this rating means the earbuds can survive intense pool laps, ocean swims, and deep dives without water entering the ear canal. The product notes emphasize that with proper sealing, the music remains clear and undistorted underwater, whereas bone conduction headphones often cause discomfort or poor sound quality in aquatic settings. If your child is a competitive swimmer or loves jumping into lakes and pools, this is the only viable option.
A unique feature of this model is the built-in 32GB MP3 player, which can store over 3,000 songs. This is a game-changer for athletes who do not want to carry a phone to the pool deck. You can leave the phone behind and still have access to your entire music library directly from the earbuds. The device supports both Bluetooth 5.2 for land use and a dedicated MP3 mode for underwater use, though it is important to note that Bluetooth does not function effectively underwater. The included single-layer earbuds provide a comfortable fit for land-based activities like running, while the dual-layer swim earbuds create a tight seal necessary for swimming.
The battery performance here is also impressive, offering up to 12 hours of Bluetooth audio or 10 hours of MP3 playback on a quick 1.5 to 2-hour charge. However, the form factor is distinctly in-ear. The silicone enclosure and hook design ensure a secure fit under swim caps, goggles, and helmets, but this means the user will be isolated from their surroundings. The dynamic drivers produce deep bass and clear highs, which the manufacturer claims vastly outperforms bone conduction options for audio fidelity. This is a device for those who prioritize immersion and durability over situational awareness. It is the ultimate tool for the best true wireless earbuds for kids who spend their time in the water.

I would buy the BKIBD Open Ear Headphones for most everyday situations, especially for kids who are active outdoors. The peace of mind provided by the open-ear design cannot be overstated; knowing a child can hear traffic while listening to music is a non-negotiable safety feature for many families. While the MTYBBYH IP68 is an incredible piece of engineering for the pool, it is too specialized for daily use. The ability to store music internally is fantastic, but the isolation from the environment makes it risky for running or walking in public spaces. For the average parent looking for a versatile, safe, and comfortable solution for kids, the BKIBD model strikes the perfect balance between performance and safety.
Yes, the BKIBD Open Ear Headphones are specifically designed for this. Their bone conduction technology keeps the ear canal open, allowing runners to hear surrounding traffic and hazards while enjoying music, making them much safer than traditional in-ear models.
Absolutely. With an IPX8 rating, these earbuds are submersible up to 26 feet. They come with dual-layer swim earbuds that create a waterproof seal, ensuring you can listen to music clearly even underwater without the distortion common in bone conduction headphones.
No. These earbuds feature a built-in 32GB MP3 player that can store over 3,000 songs. You can disconnect from your phone entirely and enjoy your offline library, which is perfect for leaving the phone at home during pool workouts.
Activating it can result in a harsh sound, so it is best used in normal mode to ensure a pleasant audio experience.
