Much of the electrical system seems to be common with other Caterhams of that era, but as far as I am aware no wiring diagram was ever issued specifically covering the Vauxhall 8V models.
The only information that seems to be available is that contained in a low resolution, hand drawn sketch of the loom construction provided as 'Appendix A' in the back of the assembly guide. Wires are numbered and referenced by colour, but are simply grouped together by connector or component with no details of which wire goes to which terminal or pin number.
This is made even more difficult to decipher in its raw state since many of the wire codes are illegible or ambiguous. Prior to seeing it, examination of my own (1998) car had not been completely successful, confused by the many junctions buried inside the loom and some 'unusual' routeing. However, combining the two sources of information enabled the re-working of the loom diagram and the creation of a point-to-point wiring list.
The next step was to produce a full wiring diagram. There's a degree of repetition which hopefully helps to clarify the operation of each function , rather than the typical 'puzzle maze' with everything squeezed onto one sheet of paper...!
Any suggestions, and especially corrections would be very welcome via <Feedback>.
