Yuseung Seol ("we," "our," or "us") operates the BizCard mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our app and the choices you have associated with that data.
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our service to you.
Camera Access
Our app requires access to your device's camera. This permission is used solely for:
Scanning business cards to extract contact information via on-device text recognition (OCR).
We do not use the camera to record you without your knowledge. Captured card images are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
Contacts Access
Our app requests access to your device's contacts. This permission is used solely for:
Exporting scanned business card data to your Google Contacts with a "bizCard" label.
Contact data is synced directly between your device and your Google account. We do not store your contacts on our servers.
Data Stored on Your Device
The following data is stored locally on your device in an SQLite database:
Business card details you scan or enter (name, company, role, phone, email, address, website, notes, tags).
Photos of scanned business cards (front and back).
Google account email and name (stored securely) if you choose to enable Google Contacts sync.
This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect or store personally identifiable information (PII) on our servers unless you voluntarily provide it by contacting us directly.
Our app uses the following third-party services:
RevenueCat: Manages in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect device identifiers and purchase data. Privacy Policy
Google Contacts API: Used when you choose to sync cards to Google Contacts. Data is transmitted directly to Google under your Google account. Privacy Policy
Sentry: Collects crash reports and error logs to help us improve app stability. Sentry may receive device information and error details but does not collect your business card data. Privacy Policy
Expo: Provides app infrastructure services. Privacy Policy
The security of your data is important to us. Business card data and authentication tokens are stored locally on your device using secure storage. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
