This Privacy Policy explains how BiteScan – Bug Identifier (“BiteScan,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and handles information when you use our mobile application.
By using BiteScan, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
BiteScan allows you to upload or capture images in order to:
Identify insects, bugs, spiders, and similar creatures
Analyze visible insect bites or skin marks
Images you choose to submit are processed only when you initiate an identification or analysis request.
To provide these features, submitted images may be securely transmitted to third-party artificial intelligence service providers for automated image analysis.
We do not use submitted images for advertising purposes.
BiteScan may request access to your device's camera so you can take photos directly within the app.
Camera access is only used when you choose to capture an image. BiteScan does not access your camera in the background.
If you choose to upload an existing image, BiteScan may request access to your device's photo library or photo picker.
We only access the images you explicitly choose to provide to the app.
BiteScan uses third-party artificial intelligence services to analyze images submitted by users.
When you request an insect identification or bite analysis, the selected image and information necessary to process the request may be transmitted to an external AI provider.
These providers process the information on our behalf to generate the requested results.
Information processed by third-party AI providers may be subject to their own privacy, security, and data-retention practices.
We do not intentionally send your name, email address, or other directly identifying account information together with an image unless it is technically necessary to provide the requested service.
You should avoid submitting images containing unnecessary personal information, faces, identification documents, addresses, or other sensitive information.
BiteScan may analyze photographs of visible skin marks that users believe may have been caused by insects or bugs.
Such images may contain information that could be considered health-related or sensitive depending on applicable law.
This information is used only to provide the feature requested by the user and is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
BiteScan is provided for informational purposes only and is not a medical diagnostic service. Results should not be considered medical advice or a substitute for evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional.
