About the Project

The Bilingual Meetings are online bilingual discussions (Portuguese and English) on books written by Black authors and their ethnic-racial related themes, such as identity, representativity, racism and resistance.  Organized by Clube de Leitura Ubuntu, under the supervision of Professor Valquíria P. Tenório (Instituto Federal de São Paulo, IFSP-Campus Matão), and in collaboration with Professor Denise Osborne (Cornell University), the Bilingual Meetings welcome students from both institutions as well as students and teachers from public schools in Brazil to discuss and learn together through Black literature.
