Biomedical Imaging and Engineering Laboratory (BIEL) is dedicated to the advancement and validation of innovative imaging technologies, systems, and software across various scales, utilizing electromagnetic waves, including light, ultrasound, and X-ray. Our primary focus lies in the development of high-resolution imaging technologies leveraging laser technology, as well as sophisticated spectroscopic photoacoustic imaging methods that synergistically combine laser and ultrasound modalities.

In recent initiatives, we have been exploring strategies to transcend the physical limitations inherent in contemporary imaging techniques through the application of deep learning algorithms. Our ultimate objective is to rigorously validate these advancements in preclinical animal models, with the goal of translating our findings into clinical applications for human patients.
