Welcome to the information page for my Gold Award project! I designed a bike route visiting the historical sites that made Avon Lake into the great city it is today.

When I was a little girl, I loved riding my bike everywhere through the city. However, it wasn't for many years that I learned about the history behind the buildings I had been riding past. I was fascinated to learn about Avon Lake's rich past. That's why I decided to combine my two loves into one with the historic Bicentennial Bike Route.

The Gold Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout can earn and is of the same status as a Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout. In fact, fewer than 6% of Girl Scouts are awarded the Gold Award each year. Each project is designed to build girls leadership skills and takes between one to two years to complete.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about my project!
