1. Overview
Bible Verse Memorizer is a free Android application developed by NorthFolio Press. This privacy policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
We are committed to your privacy. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
When you first open the app, you are asked to enter:
Your **display name** — used to identify you in group challenges. This does not need to be your real name. You may use any name you choose.
Your username — a unique identifier auto-generated for group leaderboards
This information is stored locally on your device and, when you participate in group challenges, on our secure cloud database (Firebase Firestore).
Information collected automatically
The app stores the following data locally on your device only:
Your verse practice progress (mastery levels, review dates, accuracy)
Your practice streak and achievement badges
Your preferred settings (translation, review pace, notification preferences)
This data never leaves your device unless you join a group challenge.
Group challenge data
If you create or join a group challenge, the following information is stored on Firebase Firestore (Google Cloud):
Your display name and username.
Your group verse completion count and accuracy percentage
Your group membership
This data is visible to other members of your group only.
3. Information We Do Not Collect

4. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to:
Display your display name and progress in group leaderboards.
Sync group challenge progress between members

We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, or any commercial purpose.
5. Data Storage and Security
Local data is stored in a SQLite database on your device. It is removed when you uninstall the app.
Group data is stored on Google Firebase Firestore, hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Firebase uses industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. For more information, see Google Firebase Privacy.
6. Data Retention
Your local data is retained until you uninstall the app or reset your progress in the Profile screen.
Your group data on Firebase is retained while your group is active. When you leave a group, your group progress data is deleted from Firebase.
7. Children's Privacy
Bible Verse Memorizer is suitable for all ages. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond what is described in this policy (display name and username for group challenges). No advertising is shown in the app.
8. Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party service:
Google Firebase Firestore — for group challenge data synchronisation. Privacy policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
No other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access your data — your practice progress is visible in the app at any time
Delete your data — reset all progress in the Profile screen, or uninstall the app
Withdraw from groups — leaving a group deletes your group data from Firebase
