Bible Journal is a personal Bible study and journaling app. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
Bible Journal does not collect, sell, or share any personal information with us or with any third party. We have no servers and no analytics — we never see your data.
The app does store the following information, but only on your own device and in your own personal iCloud account:
Reading plans you create or import (book/chapter/verse references, week and day numbers, dates)
Journal entries you write
Memory verses and weekly summaries you save
App settings, such as your preferred Bible translation and Bible app
This data is stored using Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage, which keeps it private to your Apple ID and syncs it between your own devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.). We do not have access to this data, and it is never transmitted to us.
If you attach a PDF to a reading plan, that file is copied into the app's storage on your device. It is not uploaded anywhere and is not synced to iCloud.
If you use the "Generate Summary" feature, it runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Apple Intelligence models (where supported). No journal content is sent to us, to Apple's servers, or to any other party as part of this feature.
Bible Journal allows you to open Bible passages in other apps or websites you choose (such as YouVersion, Blue Letter Bible, Olive Tree, or Bible Project). When you tap a passage link, you leave Bible Journal and are subject to that app or website's own privacy policy. We have no control over and are not responsible for their practices.
If you choose to use the app's "Share" feature to export a reading plan as a CSV file, that file is shared only through the destination you pick (such as Messages, Mail, or Files) — at your direction. We are not involved in that transfer and do not receive a copy.
Bible Journal does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all. The app may be used by people of any age under the guidance of a parent or guardian.
Because all data is stored locally and in your own iCloud account, you can delete it at any time by deleting reading plans within the app, or by deleting the app itself (which removes its local data; iCloud data can also be managed through your device's iCloud settings).
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
