Taran Adarsh of IndiaFM rated 1.5 out of 5, and said: "Dhoom has gloss, but no substance. Dhoom has style, but no script. Dhoom has thrills in abundance, but the outcome is least exciting. In short, Dhoom ranks amongst YRF's weakest films" and that the film relies "too heavily on thrills", the bike chase in the story are "far more interesting than the story itself. In fact, all you remember at the end of the show are some expertly-executed chases [Allan Amin], not the drama"; the film also seems to take inspirations from The Fast and The Furious and Biker Boyz.[16] Calling Dhoom a "testosterone-overdose", Anupama Chopra of India Today wrote that "Dhoom is adolescent heaven-fast bikes, hot babes, tons of kick-ass action with no-strings-attached ... But there are lots of trendy split screenshots of shiny bikes burning rubber and fast-paced stunts involving boats and trucks. Not to mention sexy songs with water hoses. Acting isn't the point here either. The performances are pure posture."[17]
Dhoom (Urdu: tag_hash_107, literal English translation: "blast") is the second studio album by the Pakistani rock band Call, released in January 2011. In 2007, although Call had not yet announced the release of their second album, the band had released several songs on their fan site. The first single released was "Laree Chotee" which featured on the soundtrack of the Bollywood movie Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, with an accompanying music video. The song was remixed and arranged by DJ Suketu & Aks.[1] In late 2007, prior to the 2007 Cricket World Cup, Call recorded and made a video for a song entitled "Humse Hai Ye Zamana". This was to be the official song for the Pakistan cricket team during the tournament. However, due to the team's early World Cup exit, the song was held back for a future release. On 20 September, Call released the music video and put it up for download on their official website.

His latest album Shabop featured songs with Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan and Shweta Pandit.
The music of Dhoom 3 received a mixed critical reception. Joginder Tuteja of Rediff.com noted, "There are songs like 'Tu Hi Junoon', 'Malang' and 'Kamli' that round off Dhoom 3 beautifully." Koimoi reported, "Overall it might not be the best album Pritam has come up with, but two really interesting compositions make the album scrupulous me! A noteworthy effort for sure!"[18] The predictions turned out to be true as the album topped the iTunes charts only after the release of the film. Rohit Khilnani of India Today deemed the music "below average".[19]
