Researcher in international development, social policy and communications. Currently Social Research & Media Specialist at CGIAR FOCUS Climate Security. With almost 20 years of experience, I have combined my communications and social sciences backgrounds to develop expertise in managing information systems, critically assessing data, and developing innovative strategies to disseminate knowledge, best practices and learning. Current research interests are digital methods, social network analysis, and content analysis.
I hold a Joint Major in Communication and Latin American Studies from Simon Fraser University, Canada; a specialisation in Social Policy Management from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná, Brazil; and a MSc Social Policy and Development (Merit) from London School of Economics, UK. Currently, I am a PhD Sociology candidate at the Centre For Social Studies/Faculty of Economics, University of Coimbra.
On a personal level, I am an ethical person concerned with social and environmental justice, constantly seeking ways to contribute to the construction of a more equal and sustainable global society. I am a dedicated mother, a curious traveller, and an active member of my community. I appreciate art, music, sports, and vegetarian food. I enjoy learning new things and taking on challenges.
