A game jam is an event where participants, often working in teams, attempt to create a complete video game from scratch within a set timeframe, typically 24 to 72 hours. This time constraint and a shared creative theme encourage rapid prototyping, experimentation, and skill-building among game developers.
The game jam will run from the 21st to the 28th.
You will have a set but fairly open ended prompt.
There will be 2 informational meetings, you must come to one but both are recommended. (Dec. 11th and 18th in Rm. N250)
There is a participation prize!
There will be a top 3 crowned who will receive prizes and have their games showed off.
Registration is due the 20th, and only one submission is required per team. Teams are editable until the 20th.
No, not at all. The hawk winter game jam is a low stakes open ended game jam, so you can use any program you wish to make your game, even google slides!
The rules are as follows:
You can work solo or in a team
You can use any program you wish to make a game
It must be school appropriate. (Light violence is allowed, but nothing suggestive)
You can use AI, but only for assistance. It is not allowed to make the story, artwork, or design large amounts of code. There's no judgment over how good your game is, but you will be judged for using AI too much.
