Dr. Bhim Kumar

About Me

I am Dr Bhim Kumar, a mathematician and researcher working in the areas of control theory, applied mathematics, and dynamical systems.

I was born in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, India, in January 1996. I completed my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with Honours in Mathematics from Aryabhatta College, University of Delhi, in 2016, followed by a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mathematics from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, in 2019. I received my Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, where I worked under the supervision of Prof. Muslim Malik on controllability and stability of switched dynamic systems.

After completing my Ph.D., I worked as an Institute Research Fellow at IIT Mandi from October 2024 to March 2025. I then joined the Institute of Information Engineering, Automation, and Mathematics at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, where I worked as a postdoctoral researcher from March 2025 to August 2026. Since September 2026, I have been working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Technology, University of Tartu, Estonia.

My current research focuses on data-driven and model predictive control, control and systems theory, hybrid and switched systems, multi-agent systems, time-scale theory, and applied mathematics. I am particularly interested in developing mathematical and computational methods for analyzing and controlling complex dynamical systems.

At the University of Tartu, I am working on the MOB3JD1524 Incoming Postdoctoral Grant project, titled “Next-Generation Modeling, Predictive Control, and Stability of Multi-Reactor Systems with Switching Dynamics".
