The PTA participates in meetings, activities, and administrative tasks to support the the teachers, staff, and school community at Stevens.
We cannot plan and run the events listed below without volunteers. Please consider offering some of your time at a Stevens PTA event, Sign Up HERE!
Members of the building council work with teachers, administrators, and other parents to plan and make decisions impacting school wide Stevens programs. Meetings are held Wednesdays once a month from 3 - 4:30 PM. PTA Members of the council serve a two year term.
The Stevens School Directory can be found at https://www.myschoolanywhere.com. You can also download the mobile app for your android or iphone and have the directory with you at all times! If you are a new family to Stevens and would like to be added to the directory, or if you have already registered for the directory and have lost your password, please contact email@example.com.
A homeroom representative is a member of the PTA who communicates between the teacher and the parents. Homeroom representatives must be members of the PTA. The representatives and the teacher plan the non-academic activities for the year.
The hospitality committee supplies refreshments for various PTA or Stevens sponsored events. Volunteers provide baked goods and other refreshments throughout the year.
Appreciation Breakfasts/ Lunches
The Stevens PTA coordinates volunteers to provide food for several appreciation breakfasts/luncheons throughout each school year.
Welcome Back Breakfast - Wed, Sept 12, 2018 (Welcomes staff and teachers back to school for the start of another school year)
Staff Appreciation Luncheon - Fri, May 10, 2019 (Offers a thank you to the staff and teachers for their hard work during the school year.)
Transportation Breakfast - Mon, June 3, 2019 (Offers a thank you to bus drivers for their hard work during the school year.)
Our school librarian is always interested in having volunteers help in the library. Volunteers shelve books, help children with picking out books, and other various jobs around the library.
You may volunteer while your child is in the library which is a great perk!
The Kindergarten Registration Chairperson helps recruit 1-2 PTA volunteers to assist district staff with the two-night registration for new kindergarten students. Volunteers help greet parents and children, and photocopy documents to assist with the registration process. Kindergarten Registration will be Monday and Tuesday, March 11 and 12, 2019 at Stevens Elementary School. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Parks & Grounds
Our Parks and Grounds Committee manages the Stevens Playground. Fall and spring clean-ups are held each year and the committee continues to look for ways to enhance the playground for students.
Pick a Reading Partner (PARP)
Studies show that children that read at home are better prepared to succeed in formal education. PARP is a program that asks parents to read either fun or informative books with their children for at least 15 minutes per day.
Our School Picture Day is Thursday, October 11, 2018. Picture Re-Takes will be Thursday, November 29, 2018. A professional photographer comes to the school to take individual and group pictures of the students that parents may order if they choose. The PTA provides volunteers to assist with students throughout the day.
The PTA works with a printing company to offer Stevens SuperStar apparel and other items to students and families. This is offered in the fall during odd years. The next Spirit Wear sale place will take place in the fall of the 2019-2020 school year.
The PTA produces a yearbook using online software that includes a photo of each student as well as candid shots. Volunteers are needed to help with orders, design, sort and distribute yearbooks. Volunteers are also needed to take pictures throughout the school year.
