Bhatia's Battery of Performance Test of Intelligence: A Review

Bhatia's Battery of Performance Test of Intelligence (BBPTI) is one of the oldest and most widely used tests of intelligence in India. It was developed by C.M. Bhatia in 1955, based on the performance tests used by Kohs, Alexander, and others. The test consists of five subtests: Kohs' Block Design, Alexander's Pass-Along, Pattern Drawing, Picture Construction, and Immediate Memory. The test is designed to measure the non-verbal and spatial aspects of intelligence, without requiring any language or literacy skills from the examinee. The test is suitable for children and adolescents aged 11 to 16 years, and has separate norms for literate and illiterate groups.
