Bharat Vitals is a Health & Fitness application that uses artificial intelligence to recognize food items from traditional Indian meals and provide informational metabolic insights and and general nutrition tips.
This Privacy Policy applies solely to the Android version of Bharat Vitals and explains:

How information is processed
Whether information is stored
How your information is protected
Your privacy rights regarding the App
The App requires permission to access your device's camera in order to scan meals for food recognition.
When you capture an image:
The image is securely transmitted to our cloud backend using encrypted HTTPS communication.
The image is analyzed using AI-powered image recognition technologies to identify food items and generate metabolic insights.
The image is processed only for the purpose of providing immediate analysis results within the App.
The camera is used solely when you actively choose to scan a meal.
Images captured through the App are used exclusively for real-time processing.
Important Privacy Assurance:
Images are not permanently stored on our servers.
Images are not archived or backed up.
Images are not retained after processing.
Images are automatically discarded immediately once the analysis is completed.
We do not build image datasets, maintain image histories, or use your images for advertising purposes.
The App performs AI-powered analysis of meal images through our secure cloud infrastructure.
Image processing occurs only for the duration necessary to:
Identify food items
Estimate metabolic metrics
Show general nutrition tips bundled with the App
After processing is complete:
The uploaded image is immediately discarded.
No cloud-based image history is maintained.
No long-term storage of uploaded images occurs.
Accordingly, Bharat Vitals follows a zero cloud image retention approach.
Bharat Vitals includes a local meal history feature for your convenience.
The following information may be stored only on your device using an on-device Room database:
Meal history
Food recognition results
Metabolic scores
Analysis history
This information:
Remains exclusively on your device.
Is not uploaded to our servers.
Is not synchronized to cloud storage.
Is not shared with third parties.
You may remove this locally stored information by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App, subject to your device's operating system behavior.
Bharat Vitals is designed to operate without requiring user accounts.
We do not collect:
Names
Email addresses
Phone numbers
Postal addresses
Government identification numbers
Login credentials
Location information
Contacts
Device location
Payment information
The App does not require user registration, account creation, or sign-in.
To provide certain features, Bharat Vitals relies on trusted third-party service providers.
Our backend infrastructure is hosted on Render, which securely processes requests received from the App. Images transmitted for analysis are processed through our backend and are not retained after processing.
The App uses Google Gemini APIs for a single purpose :
recognising the food items visible in a meal photograph.
All nutrition calculations and metabolic scoring are performed on your device, against a food database bundled with the App
Nutrition tips shown in the App are also bundled with the App and are not generated remotely.
We do not intentionally provide personally identifiable information (PII) to Google Gemini APIs. Requests are limited to the information necessary to perform image analysis and generate responses.
Users are encouraged to review the privacy practices of these third-party providers for additional information.
6.1 Crash Reporting and Diagnostics
Bharat Vitals uses Sentry, a third-party error monitoring service, to detect crashes and stability problems in the App. When the App crashes or becomes unresponsive, a diagnostic report is sent to Sentry containing the technical error details, your device model, and your Android version.
These reports also include an anonymous installation identifier generated by the App. This identifier is specific to your installation of Bharat Vitals. It is not your advertising ID, and it is not linked to your name, email address, or any account.
Diagnostic reports do not contain your meal photographs, your meal history, your nutrition data, or the details you entered during onboarding. Reports are processed on servers located in the European Union and are used solely to identify and fix defects in the App.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by the App.
These measures include:
Secure HTTPS encrypted communication between the App and our backend.
Encrypted transmission of images during processing.
Limited processing duration.
Immediate deletion of uploaded images after processing.
Local storage of meal history exclusively on the user's device.
While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect information, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Bharat Vitals is not directed toward children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we become aware that information has been inadvertently collected from a child in violation of applicable laws, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or applicable data protection regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we will take appropriate steps to delete such information promptly.
If you believe that a child has provided information through the App, please contact us using the contact information below.
Because Bharat Vitals stores meal history only on your device:
You may delete your history by clearing the App's storage through your Android device settings.
You may uninstall the App at any time.
Camera permission may be revoked through your device settings; however, doing so will disable meal scanning functionality.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements to the App, legal requirements, or changes in our practices.
When updates are made:
The revised Privacy Policy will be published with a new Effective Date.
Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
