In this video, I am trying to capture the essence of Bhalopahar, Purulia, the rich surroundings it offers, the peace and the greenery. I visited there as a day visit, had lunch, visited the school and had a great time walking around the forest and farms.
Bhalopahar, Kunchia, Purulia is a great weekend destination with one's friends and family throughout the year.
This is a story about a man who has created a forest by his hand with the help of tribal people at Bandowan, Purulia District. By 2022, in just twenty years or so, Kamal created a forest with more than 2 million plants and trees in a place which was once a barren land. It has now been transformed into a lush green forest. Kamal is a poet, writer, Nature lover & Tribal rights activist and the founder member of Bhalo pahar. He established a school for the tribal children and had setup a primary medical health center for the tribal people.
Bhalo pahar is located in Dangorjuri, Kunchia, Purulia, WB, India. It is about 30 km away from Ghatshila and about 20 km away from Galudih.
