Approach to Providing Unbundled Legal Services:

I am passionate about working with clients to inform their practical knowledge and lived family law experiences with legal advice, tools and resources to educate, empower and guide them through the legal process.

My goal is to clearly define the outcome clients are seeking, work with them to identify next steps and allocate the respective tasks necessary. Clients have the autonomy to decide which services they need, and the ability to control the cost.

It is important to me that clients have a clear understanding of their legal rights and obligations, as well as their choices regarding the processes available to them while working towards resolution.

Mediation:  I have family mediation training and I have acted as counsel in mediation in 21-30 mediations in the last 5 years.

Approach to Supporting Clients in Mediation

I have many years of experience with alternative dispute resolution; I am passionate about helping clients resolve their family law issues in a setting where they are actively working with, as opposed to against, their former partner or spouse.

Parties attending mediation control their own outcomes and are often able to achieve solutions that are more tailored to their unique situation. Mediation is flexible, cooperative, and tends to be less expensive than traditional litigation.

I am able to assist clients with all aspects of preparing for a mediation, starting with understanding their legal rights and obligations as well as the procedural aspects of mediation. I may assist clients with as much or as little legal representation as they may need to feel ready and prepared, including before the mediation, assisting with preparation of mediation briefs, being available for legal advice as needed while attending, or attending with clients if they need. I may provide clients with legal advice on the agreement they reach, review minutes of settlement, assist clients with entering any orders or preparing separation agreements.
