Approach to Providing Unbundled Legal Services:
My approach is best described as customizing my services for what clients need. There are many instances when people only need limited access to or support from a family lawyer for example they need an opinion, a plan, or counsel for mediation, case conference or a 4 way meeting, or to prepare for/and or review their case. My practice has always to been to be adaptable and offer assistance and support when needed.
Mediation: I have family mediation training and practice as a family mediator as well as counsel in mediation. I have acted as counsel in 16-20 mediations in the last five years. As a mediator, I have conducted more than 30 family mediations in the last five years.
Approach to Supporting Clients in Mediation:
My approach is to find a way to best support clients. As an active family law mediator, i understand this process from both sides. My process involves meeting with the clients, understanding what the concerns are, finding out what challenges there are or that there may be at mediation, helping people understand what mediation can and cannot do, helping them be prepared with the necessary documents and materials they may need, helping clients get additional supports and resources around parenting and communication if needed. I help clients determine what is important to them and their family as a whole and then do my best to support that.
Cultural Diversity Experience:
I am a volunteer mediator within the Ismaili Community -the Conciliation and Arbitration Board. I have also mediated many diverse cases with people of different faiths, backgrounds, beliefs and orientations.
