Approach to Providing Unbundled Legal Services:

With my 43 years of experience exclusively in the Family Law area, I can provide clients with practical, cost-effective options on how to resolve matters, without having to incur the enormous emotional and financial costs that a contested Court proceeding can involve.

I have also had extensive Court experience previously and can guide clients should they face an adversarial matter. I am the founder of the Collaborative Family Law Group in Victoria and have resolved over 200 files using this transformative process.

Mediation: I have family mediation training. In the past 5 years I have acted as counsel in 5 or fewer mediations. In the last 5 years I have conducted 5 or fewer mediations as mediator.

Approach to Supporting Clients in Mediation:

It is important to be sensitive to where the client is emotionally and how that client is handling the pressures arising from a separation or divorce. It is important to understand how much the client can absorb from the stressful situation that person is in and what is that person's ability to work on solutions to resolve matters. I often will refer a client to a counsellor to address the emotional trauma that person is experiencing so that they can more effectively make long term decisions for themselves and that person's family. The initial time spent with the client is to hear that person's story and then outline to them what the options are to move forward in their lives.

I have been a qualified Family Law Mediator since 1985.

In each instant I respect and honour the cultural heritage that the client comes from and use that knowledge to guide the client in understanding what their rights are and how to resolve matters in the most effective, respectful and meaningful way.
