Approach to Providing Unbundled Legal Services:
I believe in empowering the client by partnering with them to give them the tools they need to resolve their case. With unbundled services, the client steers the ship. No one knows the case better than the client and they will decide on the direction of their case. My role is to advise the client at any stage of that journey, giving them the information and resources they need to make the best decisions for themselves and their families. This way of approaching legal services not only empowers the client but in my experience also reduces feelings of anxiety, allows the client to tackle new or ongoing issues with greater confidence, and is most cost-effective.
Mediation: I do not have family mediation training.
Approach to Supporting Clients in Mediation:
I make several representation options available to clients who will be participating in mediation. I prepare clients who will be attending mediation without representation, I make appearances at mediation with clients, and I draft and/or give advice on Minutes of Settlement that may result from mediation. I work with clients on communicating what is most important to them and give them legal advice on how to best achieve their goals.

Cultural Diversity Experience: With the Lower Mainland being as culturally diverse as it is, I have always welcomed the representation of clients from diverse backgrounds. I myself, partially grew up in Egypt and am of mixed ethnic background. This has shaped my world view and created a strong sense of empathy in me for individuals whose experiences may differ from my own. I believe it is important not to make assumptions about a client's values and to really listen to what a client wants.
