Approach to Providing Unbundled Legal Services
Unbundled legal services allow individuals to have the benefit of some legal advice or training, without the expense of having a lawyer conduct the litigation for them. I offer advice or services such as preparing court documents, Lists of Documents, or legal arguments, for clients who do not want to have me run their file for them.
Mediation
Has family mediation training
Acted as counsel in 16-20 mediations in the last 5 years
Does not act as mediator
Approach to Supporting Clients in Mediation
To support clients in mediation, I would meet with the client in advance to understand the legal issues they were facing, and provide basic legal advice on those issues, so that the client had realistic expectations of the possible outcomes of mediation. If the client wanted me to attend the mediation with them, I would do so, and provide both advice and alternative solutions during the mediation. If the client wanted to attend mediation on their own, I would review any agreements after mediation. I would also be able to prepare a formal agreement at the conclusion of the mediation.
Cultural Diversity Experience
I have had many clients of diverse cultural backgrounds. I make a point of trying to understand how their cultural experiences and expectations impacts their approach to family law and their desired outcomes of the mediation or litigation.
