Approach to Providing Unbundled Legal Services:
During my initial discussion with new clients, I discuss whether or not they are interested in retaining me in the ordinary fashion or if their particular circumstances make it appropriate for unbundled services. I discuss their possible options and the potential costs of each option, along with the benefits and pitfalls of those options.
Mediation: Does not have family mediation training. Does not act as a mediator. Has acted as counsel in more than 30 mediations in the last five years.
Approach to Supporting Clients in Mediation
Many families are capable of managing a number of preliminary steps in a family law proceeding but feel more comfortable with counsel present at the mediation. Other families seek assistance with preparation and clarification of their legal position before attending mediation on their own. I strive to adapt to what each individual client requires in order to move their matter forward in the most efficient way available.
Cultural Diversity Experience
I have experience working with and supporting all types of clients, including:
· Special needs/persons with disabilities
· First Nations
· Addictions/mental health
· Victims of Family Violence
· English as a Second Language
