Approach to Supporting Clients in Mediation

I am a directive Mediator. I emphasize and have clients focus on the most probable range of solutions/outcomes as opposed to all possible solutions and am very good at directing clients away from emotion-based decisions while honouring the existence of feelings such as betrayal, loss of dreams, etc.

Cultural Diversity Experience

There is not enough room to adequately describe my experience; in my 36 years of practice I have represented/counselled every visible minority to be found in Victoria, and as well non-visible vulnerable populations such as the LGBTQ community. I have travelled and lived in various cultures other than "mainstream Canada" and in my LL.M. studies researched and written on power imbalances between cultures.
