Real-life experiences are essential for developing confidence, adaptability, and life skills that extend beyond textbooks. The BeyondClassrooms programme stands out by offering students a diverse range of hands-on opportunities—from performing on stage and engaging in public speaking to creating media and art productions, as well as meeting VIPs. These experiences equip students with resilience, strong communication skills, and a global perspective, preparing them to navigate real-world challenges with confidence.

The GESS Student Media Makers (GSMM) programme, launched in November 2024, gives students hands-on experience in media, marketing, and storytelling. Open to students across different grade levels, the programme helps our learners develop skills in journalism, photo- and videography, graphic design, content creation, social media, and event coverage.
What can students learn:
Working closely with the External Communications & Design Team, students capture school life across various platforms, providing a learner’s perspective.
Students gain real-world experience and training, while the school community benefits from their insights and creativity.
In 2025, GESS introduced the Head and Vice Head of Student Marketing roles to strengthen the connection among GSMMs, the External Communications & Design Team, and the Student Council. These leadership positions empower students to represent their peers, lead campaigns, drive student engagement and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
Through GSMMs, students develop leadership, communication, and digital media skills while shaping GESS’s storytelling.
