BeyondGO Project is a non-profit organization focused on preserving Chinese heritage and traditions in the upstate New York area. It connects with Chinese American immigrants to learn more about the immigration experience and what it means to be both “Chinese” in America and Chinese-American. Additionally, It connects members of this community across many generations to learn from each other while competing in healthy competition during games of Go
MEET our organizer, Baldwin, who has been learning Go for more than ten years. He is interested in Chinese Culture from his own eyes and would like share his experience to his community.
"GO is always a fascinate game to me. Through game nights, lectures, and tournaments, we encourage players both young and old, non-Asians and masters to teach others, the great game that is Go. As time goes by, I also learn more things beyond GO".
Master Jie Tang is experienced teacher who has been teaching GO game for over 20 years. She believes a good GO players should understand the culture behind GO. She also practices GO with ZEN. She is a senior advisor in the American GO Association.
