Q: What is Supersonic?
A: Supersonic is super-fast voice messaging that's actually fun to use, and doesn't get in your way. It allows you to easily send high-quality messages, 1-on-1 or to a group, with all of the rich expressiveness of voice. It instantly converts speech-to-text when needed, and it'll even automatically liven up messages with emojis! With Supersonic you can speak freely and focus on the conversation at hand because Supersonic doesn’t save a message history. Supersonic is what the telephone would be, if it was invented today.
Q: How do I get Supersonic?
A: Supersonic is available for Android and iOS devices through the Play Store and App Store, respectively. It is a free app, so download today and give it a try!
Q: How do I add contacts?
A: Tapping the plus button on the Home screen will take you to a list of options for adding contacts. Try searching for a friend using their public username, or joining the lounge to meet up with them there.
Q: What is the Lounge?
A: The Lounge is a place to find friends. All users who enter the Lounge become visible to everyone else in the Lounge. You can invite anyone in the Lounge to become a contact. This makes it easy to coordinate with friends and family without exchanging usernames.
Q: How do I send a message?
A: Hold down the pink microphone button on the conversation screen and start talking. That’s it! Your message will be transmitted in real time along with automatic transcription and emojis.
Q: How do I know if my message was heard?
A: A yellow dot next to a message means it is unheard. When the dot turns into a gray stopwatch that means the message has been heard. Heard messages are deleted soon after they are marked as heard.
Q: How do I know if the other person is there?
A: When the other user is in the chat with you, a green dot will appear next to their name. The green dot will only show up while the user is in the chat with you.
Q: What happens if the other person isn’t there when I send my message?
A: Your message will still be delivered to them and they will receive a push notification. When they return to the app/conversation, they will be able to tap on the old message and play it back.
Q: What are reactions?
A: Reactions are a quick way to send a sentiment to someone without talking. Tap the smile emoji to the right of the microphone button and select an emoji reaction. That reaction and its accompanying sound effect will be sent to the conversation. Perfect for times when you can’t talk or just want a quick reply!
