For towing, the best hand tools start with the Mytee Products 39.5" Ratcheting Winch Bar as my top choice for its heavy-duty carbon-steel build and secure slip-resistant tip. If you need a versatile cleaning solution for your vehicle's interior or trailer surfaces instead, the Holikme 6Pc Drill Brush Set is the runner-up for its comprehensive five-head variety.
• Mytee Products 39.5 — best for securing heavy loads on flatbeds; pick this if you need a single, robust tool that turns standard winches into high-torque ratchets without slipping.
• Holikme 6Pc — best for deep cleaning trailers and vehicles; pick this if you want to scrub grout, seats, and tires efficiently using your existing cordless drill.
• UEGHNS Cargo Grabber Reach — best for retrieving dropped items in truck beds; pick this if you want to avoid bending over or reaching blindly into dark corners.
When you are dealing with towing, the margin for error is slim. A loose strap can ruin a cargo load or cause an accident on the highway. This ratcheting winch bar is designed specifically to eliminate that risk. It transforms any standard winch on a flatbed trailer into a powerful ratcheting system, giving you mechanical advantage that makes tightening heavy straps feel effortless. The design focuses entirely on security and control during those critical moments of loading and unloading.
The core of this tool is its construction. It features a chrome-finished carbon-steel body that suggests durability under pressure. The handle is knurled, meaning it has a textured surface designed to prevent your hands from slipping even if they are sweaty or oily. This is not just a comfort feature; it is a safety mechanism. When you are pulling hard against a heavy load, you need every ounce of grip you can get. The tip is tapered and slip-resistant, ensuring it bites firmly into the winch mechanism so the bar does not spin uselessly when you apply force.
At nearly four feet long, this bar provides significant leverage. In practice, this means you do not have to exert maximum physical strength to achieve a tight hold on your cargo. The length allows you to generate enough torque to cinch down straps that might otherwise be impossible to tighten by hand. However, this length comes with a trade-off. Because it is a solid, rigid bar, it is less portable than a smaller folding tool. You will need a dedicated space in your tow rig or garage to store it where it won't get bent or damaged.
I recommend this specific winch bar for anyone who takes their towing duties seriously. It is built for the job of securing heavy equipment, boats, or RVs where a simple ratchet might fail. The focus here is purely on function: turning a winch into a reliable locking system. If your priority is keeping your load safe and your hands protected from slips, this is the single most important tool to have in your kit.

While the winch bar handles the structural side of towing, maintaining the cleanliness of your vehicle and trailer is equally vital for safety and longevity. This six-piece set transforms a standard cordless drill into a high-powered scrubbing machine. It includes five different brush heads ranging in size, plus an extension rod, allowing you to tackle everything from bathroom grout to the intricate crevices of a car seat or tire tread. It is an all-in-one attachment kit designed to replace multiple specialized brushes.
The bristles are made of medium-stiffness nylon, which strikes a balance between aggressive cleaning and surface protection. You can use them on bathtubs, kitchen counters, tile floors, and automotive interiors without worrying about scratching delicate finishes. The inclusion of five distinct sizes means you can switch from broad surface cleaning to detailed work in seconds. The extension rod adds another layer of utility, letting you reach behind stove grates, under sink drip pans, or deep into the wheel wells of a motorcycle or boat without straining your back.
This set is particularly useful for the "home and auto" user who wants one toolkit for everything. Instead of buying separate brushes for the house and the car, you simply swap out the head on your drill. It covers a wide array of materials, including tires, carpets, and upholstery. The only limitation is that it requires a cordless drill to function; the package does not include the power tool itself. You must already own a compatible drill to make this set operational.
In my opinion, this is the smartest purchase for someone who maintains their own vehicles and home. It saves money and storage space by consolidating many small brushes into one efficient system. The ability to extend your reach and change brush types quickly makes tedious cleaning tasks much faster. If you spend time detailing your tow rig or cleaning up after outdoor adventures, this set offers the versatility you need to keep everything spotless.
Sometimes the hardest part of towing isn't securing the load but managing what happens inside the bed of your truck. Dropped tools, coins, or small gear can slide to the very bottom or get wedged behind the tailgate. Reaching in blindly often leads to scratched hands or back strain. This retractable grabber tool solves that problem by extending your reach significantly without requiring you to bend over or climb into the truck bed.
The tool is constructed from a thickened stainless steel tube, described as hardened steel with a substantial weight capacity. This material choice ensures it can lift heavy items like engine blocks or large tools without buckling. The adjustable length feature allows you to customize the tool from roughly three feet to over five feet. By opening the outer lock, you can extend the pole to retrieve items from deep corners or far sides of the truck bed. Once extended, the lock holds firm, providing the stability needed to hook and pull objects out safely.
Its primary value lies in convenience and injury prevention. You no longer need to contort your body to find a lost wrench or pick up a dropped coin from the floor of your trailer. The wear-resistant design suggests it will hold up to repeated use in rough environments. The included storage bag keeps the tool organized when it is not in use. While it is a specialized tool for retrieval rather than a general-purpose mechanic's item, its utility in a truck bed setting is undeniable.
I suggest this grabber for anyone who frequently works in the bed of a pickup or manages a cluttered trailer. It is a simple device that prevents minor frustrations from becoming major inconveniences. The sturdy build means you can trust it with heavier items, and the adjustability makes it suitable for various truck models and cargo configurations. For the specific task of picking things up without getting dirty or hurting your back, this is the ideal solution.
