Patrick Klösel is a PhD candidate in Economics at Technical University Berlin and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. He is visiting the Energy and Environment Policy Lab in spring 2026.
His research spans causal inference, climate policy evaluation, and political economy, where he is specifically interested in carbon pricing, green innovation, labor market transitions, and green industrial policy. He has coauthored a textbook on the history of thought in political economy.
Patrick holds degrees in Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics from the Universities of Munich and Tübingen, and has spent time at Sciences Po and Harvard.
