SolusChess connected to Gavon

Josu Bergara Ede, from Euskadi, has developed a software that allows you to play, in an autonomous way, with different chess engines. This software works on Raspberry Pi connected to an Adafruit module (that includes LCD and keypad). The complete kit is called "Gavon" and lets you play chess without requiring any other peripherals.

The system is highly configurable, allowing you to change the engine, level of play, display options, input type, etc. It even allows the connection of a sensory chessboard: DGT or SolusChess!

The system is in development, so both technical details and engines can change from one day to another.

The complete kit includes:

  • Raspberry Pi rev2 (512MB)

  • Adafruit RGB Color LCD + 5 buttons keypad (Assembled and configured)

  • SD memory card with preinstalled software

  • Case

  • Mini speaker

  • 5V/1A USB external battery pack

  • PSU/Charger 220V to 5V/1A
