INTRODUCTION
This Privacy Policy explains what data BeParents collects, why, and what choices you have. BeParents does not sell your data or share it for advertising purposes, and does not include any third-party analytics or advertising SDK.
DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY
Account (email and password): to create and secure your account, via Firebase Authentication. We never see your raw password.
- Child and family information you enter (name, birth date, avatar, chores, achievements, growth data): entered and controlled by you, the parent or caregiver, to power the family organizer features. Children do not create their own account or enter this data themselves.
- Memories (photos, captions, dates): stored only when you actively choose to add a memory, using Firebase Storage. We only access your camera or photo library when you tap to add a photo - never automatically or in the background.
- Calendar and appointments you create: stored so they sync across your devices and with any family members you invite.
- Family Sharing (optional): if you invite a partner or caregiver with an invite code, the data above becomes visible to that household. Only the household creator can delete a child's profile.
- Purchases (Premium subscription): processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. BeParents never sees or stores your payment details, only whether you have an active subscription.
- Local notifications: reminders you configure are scheduled and delivered directly by your own device. BeParents does not use remote push notifications and does not collect a device push token.
HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
To provide the app's core features: the family organizer (tasks, calendar, growth tracking) and the private memories journal.
- To sync your data across your devices and, if enabled, with the family members you invite.
- To manage your account and your Premium subscription entitlement.
- To send the local reminders you configure.
We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.
WHO WE SHARE DATA WITH
Firebase / Google Cloud, which hosts our database and file storage as a data processor.
- Apple, which processes in-app purchases and subscriptions.
- Other members of your household, only if you invite them via Family Sharing.
- If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of BeParents or our users.
We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
Your data is stored on Google's Firebase platform and encrypted in transit. Access is restricted by security rules so only your account, and any family members you explicitly invite, can read or write your family's data. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
BeParents is designed to be used by parents and caregivers on behalf of their children. Children do not create an account, log in, or interact directly with BeParents - a parent or caregiver enters and manages all information about a child. The app has no chat or messaging with strangers. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information outside the ordinary use of this app, contact us at rubenmerced10@gmail.com and we will address it promptly.
YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Edit or delete a child's profile, memory, or event at any time inside the app (subject to the household-owner restriction above).
- Request a copy or deletion of your account data by emailing rubenmerced10@gmail.com.
- Leave a shared household at any time by contacting us.
We retain your data while your account is active. If you request deletion, we remove your personal data from our active systems, except where we must retain limited records for legal or Apple subscription purposes.
INTERNATIONAL USERS
BeParents is available in multiple languages and countries. Your data is processed on Google Cloud infrastructure, which may store or process data outside your country of residence.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy as BeParents evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date above whenever we do, and make a reasonable effort to notify you inside the app for significant changes.
