I am a linguist interested in Language Acquisition, Syntax, Morphology and Experimental Psycholinguistics.
I am a Post-doctoral Researcher at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. With PI Dr. Samar Husain, I am part of research team for 'Syntactic Complexity in Context: Role of Discourse and Priming during Hindi comprehension', which will consist of transcription and annotation of an existing set of Hindi corpus, as well as collecting a new set of corpus.
Also, I am co-teaching the course Fundamentals of Language Science with Dr. Paroma Sanyal for the September 2020 - January 2021 semester, in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
My doctoral thesis was titled 'Nominal Features in Hindi Language Acquisition: A Study of Agreement & Modification'. Under the supervision of Dr. Ayesha Kidwai and Dr. Sonja Eisenbeiss, this research looked at the appearance of case and agreement morphology in the developing grammar of Hindi speaking children.
