Awakened Acres is a Narritive driven puzzle game, where you have to free your uncles farm from corruption with the help of a talking carrot and other friends you will find along the way.
I was the sole programmer on the project creating a variety of different systems over the course of the games development while bringing it all together within Unity by implementing the provided art and animation.
A huge focus for me personally during this project was making sure each system was easily scalable and allowed designers to contribute alongside with the tools setup in the editor.
A challenging project where many features were cut / altered that allowed me to grow as a programmer. One of these being the aim to support the Nintendo Switch as the primary platform, being ambitious to do so.
Inventory system using Unitys scriptable objects.
Crafting system expanding on the inventory, ultimatly cut from the game to fit better with the design.
Multi Scene Async Loading, both ingame and in editor to allow multiple users to work on scenes at once.
Dialogue system, using the ink scripting language. Allowing dialogue to be easily added to the game and managed externally.
Reflection Mirror Puzzles.
Farming Logic, spells and tools, plant, grow and water to grow vegetables that come to life and help maintain your spells.
The team pictured here consisted of 10 students named below. Also in the picture are representatives from Hyper Luminal Games that provided the original brief for this game and were the clients for the project we would check in with to showcase the work.
