CV (updated 12.08.2024)
I am a postdoc in the nonlinear algebra group of Bernd Sturmfels at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences. I am also a PI for the DFG Priority Program Combinatorial Synergies (SPP 2458) project: Combinatorial Methods for Learning Max-Linear Bayesian Networks and a long term guest of the Technical University of Munich.
My research interests are in algebraic statistics, computational algebra, and polyhedral combinatorics. I am particularly interested in problems concerning graphical models and phylogenetics. I also enjoy developing mathematical software.
Previously, I was an Alexander von Humboldt postdoc at TU Munich in the Mathematical Statistics research group led by Mathias Drton. Before that, I was a postdoc in the nonlinear algebra group at MPI MiS. I completed my Ph.D. in May 2022 at North Carolina State University under the direction of Seth Sullivant.
