BEN FINDLAY

Candidate for Division 2 Gold Coast

Advocating for Better Outcomes!

Meet Ben Findlay

My name is Ben Findlay, I grew up here in Division 2 attending Helensvale State School and Helensvale State High School. I have spent the last 10 years working with families, young people, and community groups in our local community in a volunteer and leadership capacity.

My vision for Division 2 is to advocate for better outcomes for areas such as:

Connection to Division 2

I am a true local to Division 2. I was born and bred right here in Helensvale and Oxenford and attended both Helensvale State School and Helensvale State High School. This has cultivated a profound appreciation for our community. My upbringing attending local institutions, namely Helensvale State School and Helensvale State High School, has instilled in me a profound understanding of the unique strengths and challenges within our neighbourhoods. This has motivated my drive to advocate for better outcomes for our community.

Over the past decade, I have been dedicated to serving our community in various capacities, most notably as a School Chaplain within our local schools, more recently, having come back full circle to Helensvale State School and Helensvale State High School. In this role, my primary focus has been on fostering community cohesion and advocating for better outcomes for students and families. Additionally, I have actively participated in numerous local community initiatives, both as a volunteer and in leadership capacities. Collaborating with fellow volunteers, I have worked tirelessly to advocate for better outcomes for our broader community.

My decision to run for the Division 2 seat on the Council is motivated solely by a desire to facilitate positive change within our community. It is not about personal ambition or seeking a larger platform but rather about championing the collective well-being of our residents. Central to my approach is the commitment to listen attentively to community concerns and serve as a dedicated liaison between residents and the Council. My overarching goal is to relentlessly ADVOCATE FOR BETTER OUTCOMES.
