How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want a wired in-ear you can wear all day and use for calls, music and gaming on almost any 3.5mm device, choose BENEWY in-Ear Headphones; if you need a budget gaming-first earbud built around console controllers and sweat-proof sport use, choose S&H 3.5MM.
• BENEWY in-Ear Headphones — biggest strength: a fuller control package (three-button in-line remote, volume control, magnetized buds, 14 mm dynamic drivers, 2-year manufacturer warranty).
• BENEWY in-Ear Headphones — biggest trade-off: it's a wired 3.5mm bud, so newer phones without a headphone socket need an adapter, and there's no water- or sweat-resistance listed.
• S&H 3.5MM — biggest strength: it's explicitly positioned for PS4, PS5, New Xbox One, PC and laptop gaming, with a sweat-proof silicone build and an inner ear loop for a secure fit.
• S&H 3.5MM — biggest trade-off: the feature set is thinner — no volume dial detail, no impedance or sensitivity figures, no warranty stated, and a single earphone in the box.
• Who each pick is for: BENEWY for the everyday all-rounder who wants calls, music and a durable cable; S&H for the gamer or sport user who wants a cheap, secure, sweat-friendly bud.
The BENEWY in-Ear Headphones are the more "complete" of the two on paper. You get a 3.5mm gold-plated plug, a TPE cable that the brand describes as soft, flexible and treated for wear and corrosion resistance, and a three-button in-line controller with a built-in microphone. That controller isn't decorative: single press answers or hangs up, a long press rejects a call, double press skips forward, triple press goes back. If you take calls while walking or commuting, that's the whole reason to pick this one.
The audio side is specified too: a 14 mm dynamic driver, 32 ohm impedance, 110 dB sensitivity and a 20 Hz–20 kHz range. In plain terms, 32 ohm is an easy load for a phone or laptop to drive, so you don't need a dongle amp to get decent volume. The design is in-ear with a bud shape, aluminium/metal/plastic/TPE construction, and the buds snap together magnetically back-to-back so the cable doesn't swing around your neck when you pull them out. The brand also lists a 2-year manufacturer warranty and includes a spare pair of eartips and a manual.
Who should buy it: anyone who wants one wired pair for phone calls, music, podcasts, tablets and laptops, and who values the inline remote and the extra eartips. It's also a reasonable pick for kids or teens, since the age range covers adult, teen and kid. Who should skip it: if your phone dropped the headphone jack, you'll need a 3.5mm adapter, and if you plan to sweat heavily in them, note that no water or sweat rating is listed.
The S&H 3.5MM is a gaming-first earbud. The compatibility list is the headline: it's sold for PS4, PS5, New Xbox One controllers, cellphones, PC and laptop. For a lot of console players, a wired bud plugged straight into the controller is the simplest way to get game audio without charging anything. The brand also describes a hand-free design with a built-in microphone and a control button for play/pause and answering or ending calls.
Comfort and grip are where this one leans hardest. It's an in-ear with a rounded tip, a silicone body, and an inner ear loop that the brand says keeps it seated — useful for walking, yoga, reading or just moving around. The silicone is described as sweat-proof, which matters more for sport than for sitting at a desk. Bass is emphasized as "strong bass stereo," and the listed frequency range is the standard 20 Hz–20,000 Hz, so the tuning is aimed at punchy, energetic sound rather than flat reference listening.
Who should buy it: console and PC gamers who want a cheap wired bud for controller audio, and people who want a secure, sweat-friendly fit for light exercise. Who should skip it: if you want a volume control you can actually see specified, a documented warranty, or spare eartips, this one doesn't offer them. The wire is listed at 120 cm, and the package is a single earphone.
• Best for calls and everyday phone use → BENEWY in-Ear Headphones. The three-button remote plus microphone covers answer, hang up, reject, skip forward and skip back.
• Best for console gaming → S&H 3.5MM. PS4, PS5 and New Xbox One controllers are named in its compatibility list; BENEWY's list is phone-, tablet- and MP3-focused.
• Best for a secure, sweat-friendly fit → S&H 3.5MM. Silicone build, inner ear loop and a sweat-proof description.
• Best for a documented audio spec sheet → BENEWY in-Ear Headphones. 32 ohm impedance, 110 dB sensitivity, 14 mm dynamic driver, 20 Hz–20 kHz.
• Best for a longer, wear-resistant cable → BENEWY in-Ear Headphones. TPE cable described as enhanced for wear and corrosion resistance; S&H lists 120 cm but no material claims beyond silicone.
• Best for tangle-free storage between uses → BENEWY in-Ear Headphones. The magnetized buds clip together behind your neck.
• Best for the lightest carry → S&H 3.5MM. Listed at roughly 0.02 kg versus BENEWY's 30 g — a small but real difference if it lives in a pocket.
• Best for peace of mind on defects → BENEWY in-Ear Headphones. A 2-year manufacturer warranty is stated; none is stated for the S&H.
• Best value for a single-purpose gaming bud → S&H 3.5MM, provided you only need the basics. Check the current price on Amazon before deciding, since that's the one variable that changes most.
My Verdict
Yes, based on the specs. BENEWY lists a dedicated in-line controller with a high-quality microphone and defined button actions for answering, rejecting and skipping. S&H lists a microphone and a control button too, but without the same level of detail.
The S&H 3.5MM explicitly lists PS5, PS4 and New Xbox One controller compatibility, so it's the clearer match for console gaming. BENEWY's compatibility list centres on iPhone, iPad, Samsung, Android, Windows devices and MP3 players with a 3.5mm socket.
The S&H 3.5MM, in my opinion. It uses sweat-proof silicone and an inner ear loop for a more secure seat. BENEWY lists no water or sweat resistance, so heavy sweating isn't its strong point.
Both use a standard 3.5mm jack. BENEWY's own notes say to buy a 3.5mm adapter for iPhone 7/8/X-era models that dropped the headphone socket, and the same logic applies to any modern phone without a jack — including for the S&H.
